Cheri Blauwet, MD

Dr. Cheri Blauwet is an attending physician at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and BWH and Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at HMS. As Director of the Kelley Adaptive Sports Research Institute at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Dr. Blauwet’s work serves to investigate the impact of adaptive sports participation on individuals with disabilities through the promotion of research that is participantcentered, collaborative, and outcome-based. A former Paralympic athlete in wheelchair racing, she competed for the US team in three games and brought home seven medals. She won the Boston and New York City marathons twice. She received Harvard Medical School’s Harold Amos Faculty Diversity Award (2016). Dr. Blauwet spoke at the UN International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. She gave the keynote speech at the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act in Boston.
